"In the next Call of Duty, the world's most powerful military is not a country. It's a corporation," begins a promotional mini-documentary for the 2014 Call of Duty game from publisher Activision and news organization Vice.

The piece focuses on the rise of private military corporations (PMCs) over the past two decades. These organizations are drawing soldiers away from national armies with offers of higher pay for shorter tenures. And according to Vice, PMCs will fight on behalf of anyone from human-rights groups to terrorist organizations — as long as the price is right.

Sledgehammer Games is the studio behind this year's Call of Duty title, for which Activision posted a teaser page today. The site, which includes three hidden links to web articles about PMCs, points to a reveal at 10 a.m. ET on Sunday, May 4.
